Questions:
- Why didn’t they use the skins of the animals they caught? I counted several 12-foot animals, dozens of dogs, and all kinds of penguins. No doubt those furs would be helfpul to prevent frostbite or water dmg in some cases. That’s at least one dog per man, and a fully grown sled dog could make a nice pair of mittens and hat. And they already stated they had extra needles due to a problem with logistics, and plenty of rope.
- EDIT: only at the very end did they start to make their own things from the animals.
- Why didn’t they fish? Or drill at all to encourage seals?
- Regardless, they had a year or two of supplies and it was quite remarkable even at the end they were usion bullion cubes and powdered milk, and jam.
